Abstract: 1,118,405. Cantilever supported partitioning. SANYMETAL PRODUCTS CO Inc. 27 Sept., 1965, No. 41051/65. Heading E1W. A dividing partition supported in cantilever arrangement from a vertical wall V has a back vertical edge 1' substantially wider than front vertical edge, the partition being supported from the wall by a plurality of tension members 45 extending from the back edge to and rigidly anchored to the wall and a plurality of compression members T extending from the back edge to the front of the wall. In the exemplified embodiment, the tension and compression members are each individually adjustable. Vertical side panels 2 extending between the front and back vertical edges are spaced from each other by spacer members 5 which may be made of layers of corrugated paper bonded together. Cover strips (not shown in Fig. 6) cover the space between the back edge 1' and the wall V. Upper and lower cap members 6 and a front edging strip 7 interlock with outwardly flared edges along the upper, lower and front margins of the panels 2. The panels 2 may have an adhesively bonded internal lining 4 which may be of corrugated cardboard, plywood or composition beard.
