Abstract: 15,802. Stone, M. J., and Fenwick, E. T. July 15. Conduits.-For the purpose of securing together conduit sections, their contiguous surfaces are formed with registering undercut grooves 2 for receiving double - headed dowel pins or keys 3, Fig. 3, or cement or other suitable material. The grooves are obstructed at a short distance from the ends of the sections, so as to prevent the dowel pins from being pushed too far back therein in the act of aligning two sections of conduit placed end to end, by suitable projections which may be formed either by pressing material from the body of the conduit or by fixing separate pieces in the grooves. By arranging the grooves at the corners of the sections, four sections of conduit may be held together by a single fourheaded dowel pin.

Abstract: The apparatus is a diagnostic tool to recognise joint dislocations, particularly hip-joints, at an early, pre-walking stage in infants. The apparatus comprises signal generating means for location at one side of a joint to be tested, signal receiving means for location at the other side of said joint and means for measuring the received signal which is representative of joint congruity. It also includes means for controlling qualitatively the generated signal, e.g. by varying the intensity, frequency or duration of the signal or by causing generation of a continuous, intermittent or alternating signal. It can also include means for producing a reference measurement, either absolute or comparative, the latter being achieved by the pad of a second sound generator or a second signal generating means and/or a second sound receiving means being placed at the other side of a like joint, and the two identical parts being worked in alternating fashion.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for wireless power transfer using multiple receive coils. In one aspect a wireless power receiver is provided that is configured to receive wireless power from a wireless power transmit coil. The wireless power receiver includes a first receive coil having a first mutual coupling with the transmit coil. The wireless power receiver further includes a second receive coil having a second mutual coupling with the transmit coil. The wireless power receiver further includes a load coupled to at least one of the first receive coil and the second receive coil for receiving the wireless power.

Abstract: A loudspeaker, for example, for an in-vehicle hands-free communication system or an in-vehicle entertainment system is provided as part of a vehicle sun visor (10), or as an attachment (24) to a vehicle sun visor so that the loudspeaker can be placed relatively close to the driver's ears and in front of the driver. Accordingly, there will not be any significant tendency for the driver to turn their head when listening to the loudspeaker. The loudspeaker comprises a flat panel (26) which is driven by a piezoelectric actuator (28), enabling an extremely thin construction to be realised and the loudspeaker to be conveniently integrated into the sun visor, or provided as an unobtrusive attachment for the sun visor.
