A technique for using an iron plating for coating an aluminum product that results in adequate durability. An aluminum piston (lθ) used as a plated aluminum product is covered by an iron-based composite plating layer (l l). The iron-based composite plating layer (ll) contains a carbon nanomaterial, which is applied to the aluminum-based base material using a iron-based composite plating bath formed by mixing a carbon nanomaterial into an iron plating bath.

A method of manufacturing a metal-carbon nanocomposite material in which aluminum is used as the matrix is disclosed. The manufacturing method comprises mixing a Si-coated carbon nanomaterial (30) and a powdered Mg material (33), heating the mixture to a melting point of the Mg material or higher, and thereafter cooling the mixture to obtain an Mg-carbon nanomaterial (34). A metal-carbon nanomaterial in which Al is used as the matrix is provided by cooling the Mg-carbon nanomaterial and molten Al (40) in a mixed state.

The invention provides compositions and methods for inhibiting Chk1 and/or Chk2 kinases. Also provided are compositions and methods for inhibiting G2 cell arrest checkpoint, particularly in mammalian, e.g., human, cells. The compositions and methods of the invention are also used to treat disorders of cell growth, such as cancer. In particular, the invention provides methods for selectively sensitizing G1 checkpoint impaired cancer cells to DNA damaging agents and treatments. Also provided are methods for screening for compounds able to interact with, e.g., inhibit, enzymes involved in the G2 cell cycle arrest checkpoint, such as Chk1 and/or Chk2/Cds1 kinase.
