Abstract: 2083967 9118662 PCTABS00008 A closed container (1) has openings (4) at an input end (3) for drawing air into the container and openings (6) at the output end (5) for passing air out of the container. An ozone generator (9) is disposed inside the container adjacent the input end and a corona generator (11) is disposed in the container adjacent the output end. The corona generator includes a dielectric made of a material having a dielectric constant of 1000 or greater. Impure air which is drawn in at the input end passes over the ozone generator whereby the ozone reacts with the impurities of the impure air to provide purified air. The purified air with remaining ozone is passed over the corona generator means to destroy the remaining ozone.

Le générateur corona comprend un élément diélectrique constitué par une matière possédant une constante diélectrique de 1000 ou plus. L'air vicié qui est aspiré à l'extrémité d'entrée, traverse le générateur d'ozone, ce qui provoque la réaction de l'ozone avec les impuretés de l'air vicié pour produire de l'air purifié. L'air purifié contenant des restes d'ozone, traverse le générateur corona pour détruire ces restes d'ozone.
