Abstract:
A method for forming a foamed innerspring unit is provided including releasably securing a plurality of coils (20) to a jig (22), delivering a foamable reaction mixture (26) to a tray (10 or 10") and positioning the jig so that the ends of the coils extending away from the jig are spaced from the bottom of the tray so that the rising foam embeds the end of the coil. The process is repeated by releasing the foamed layer embedding one end of the coils, releasably holding the first foamed layer with the ends thereof spaced from a tray having said foamable reaction mixture therein so that the second end of the coils is embedded in a second foam layer. A mattress formed of a plurality of innerspring unit sections formed in accordance with the foregoing may be combined with in a cover to define a mattress. By selecting the firmness of the coils of adjacent sections, regions of differing firmness can be provided in the mattress.

Abstract:
A method for forming a foamed innerspring unit is provided including releasably securing a plurality of coils (20) to a jig (22), delivering a foamable reaction mixture (26) to a tray (10 or 10') and positioning the jig so that the ends of the coils extending away from the jig are spaced from the bottom of the tray so that the rising foam embeds the end of the coil. The process is repeated by releasing the foamed layer embedding one end of the coils, releasably holding the first foamed layer with the ends thereof spaced from a tray having said foamable reaction mixture therein so that the second end of the coils is embedded in a second foam layer. Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for making paddings and/or mattresses, with independent-unit springing, characterized in that the method comprises the steps of: providing a supporting element (1), coupling to this supporting element respective end portions of a plurality of springs (2), locating the other end portions of the springs in a mold (4), foaming a synthetic plastic material so as to embed the other end portions of the spring and, finally, removing the supporting element.
Abstract:
Method for packing objects of varying shape, comprising the following steps: providing a suitable quantity of small-size base elements (1) made of suitable material; moistening said base elements (1) with a suitable adhesive; providing a suitable container inside which said adhesive-lined base elements (1) are inserted; polymerizing/drying the adhesive until hardening thereof and consequent relative setting of the base elements (1) is obtained. Packing material obtained using said method.
Abstract:
A method for making a solid agglomerate, having a preset size and shape, including a plurality of inert material particles, comprises the steps of: rotating the inert material particles, applying to the surface of the rotating particle an at least one component reactive resin, supplying the particles into a vessel holding each of the particles in contact with the adjoining particles at least for a time necessary to carry out the chemical reaction of the reactive resin, to provide a solid agglomerate. The invention also relates to a system for carrying out the method and the product obtained thereby.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the production of blocks of agglomerated material from loose material (30) comprises: - at least one first container (110; 110) for storing material (30) to be compacted; - means (20;1020) for feeding the loose material (30) to be compacted to the said container; - means (130;1130) for compressing the loose material (110), associated with the said storage container (110;1110); - means for discontinuous operation of the feeding and compression means, able to perform the alternate feeding and compression of successive layers of loose material until the final axial dimension of the compacted block of agglomerated material is obtained.
