Abstract:
A method of determining the concentration of a nonelectrolyte contained in an electrolyte solution, which comprises preparing a graph showing the relationship between electric conductivity and nonelectrolyte concentration by measuring the electric conductivities of various solutions each containing a mixture of an electrolyte with a nonelectrolyte and determining the concentration of a target nonelectrolyte contained in the solution on the basis of the above graph by using the measured electric conductivity of the solution.
Abstract:
Prior to measuring the concentration of a nonelectrolyte in an electrolyte solution, the electric conductivity of a mixed solution containing electrolytes and the nonelectrolyte is previously measured so as to determine the correlation between the electric conductivity and the concentration of the nonelectrolyte as to the same system. The concentration of the nonelectrolyte in the mixed solution can be determined from the electric conductivity obtained by measuring the mixed solution, based on the correlation.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a stabilization determining processing time, and to shorten a calibration time as a result thereof. SOLUTION: In this calibration method for a measuring instrument for conducting stabilization determination for a measured value and for conducting calibration processing, (a) stabilization determining processing with prescribed intervals is carried out based on a measured data even at the time of measurement, (b) calibration processing is carried out immediately at the time of calibration when stabilization is already determined as a result of the stabilization determining processing, and the stabilization determining processing is continued successively when an unstabilized condition is determined, to carry out calibration processing when stabilization is determined.
