Abstract: A method of polymer hydrogenation which comprises contacting a solution of a polymer containing olefinically unsaturated groups with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to hydrogenate the olefinically unsaturated groups of the polymer, wherein at least part of the polymer solution which has undergone the hydrogenation is recycled to the hydrogenation. By the method, a polymer having a desired degree of hydrogenation can be stably obtained over long.
