    Abstract: A positioning system of a mobile communication terminal for improving position measurement technology through self learning algorithm and a method thereof are provided to self revise BS(Base Station) information or environmental variables by using accuracy in GPS(Global Positioning System)-based positioning results, so as to improve network-based positioning technology without a separate additional cost. The first self learning DB(340) accumulates GPS-based positioning results, network information for BS identification, and network-based positioning results. A self learning processor(330) conducts a self learning process by using the accumulated results and information, and generates self learning processing results associated with the network-based positioning. The second self learning DB(350) accumulates the self learning processing results by matching the results with BS information. A network-based positioning unit(320) generates the network-based positioning results through the network-based positioning, and updates the generated results in the first self learning DB(340).
