Abstract: PURPOSE: A character inputting apparatus and a method thereof are provided to display a predicted syllable to select a syllable to be inputted one time in order to input the syllable, thereby easily inputting a word or a sentence. CONSTITUTION: A character input unit(110) inputs a character through a key, a touch and a voice. A display unit(130) displays predicted syllables and the character. A database unit(140) includes predicted syllable data about the character. A control unit(160) extracts at least one predicted syllable corresponding to the character. If the syllable is selected, the control unit displays at least one predicted syllable corresponding to a finally selected syllable and a character to the selected syllable.
