Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for confirming an IPC connection state is provided to transmit one confirmation message by including IDs of many RTs(Remote Terminals), and to confirm all the RTs with one confirmation message without including the IDs of the RTs in the one confirmation message transmitted to the RTs from a COT(Central Office Terminal), thereby occupying small bandwidths of IPC channels. CONSTITUTION: An IPC transmitter of a COT confirms whether received data is a confirmation message(301). If so, the IPC transmitter confirms a sender of the confirmation message(303). If the confirmation message is transmitted from an RT, the IPC transmitter transmits the confirmation message to an IPC controller of the COT to process the confirmation message(305). If the confirmation message is not transmitted from the RT, the IPC transmitter deletes the confirmation message(307). If the received data is not the confirmation message, the IPC transmitter confirms whether the received data is a self message(313). If so, the IPC transmitter transmits the message to the IPC controller to process the message(315). If the message is not the self message, the IPC transmitter transmits the message to an IPC transmission unit, transmitting the message to other node(317).
