Abstract: A fingertip tactile sense input device for a personal digital assistant capable of various input operations produced by a moving fingertip over projections recognized by the fingertip tactile sense. An input plate has a plurality of fingertip input projections and input control means that encodes an input signal when a projection is depressed. A fingertip can be moved over the input plate with the wrists fixed. The projections are disposed within a surface area outlined by an inverted generally egg-shaped curve C 1 or C 2 , which is usable equally by the index fingertip of either hand.

Abstract: 본 발명은 손가락끝의 이동에 의한 촉각으로 인식할 수 있는 사이즈로 각종 입력이 행해지는 손가락끝 촉각 입력장치와 휴대정보단말기를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 발명의 손가락끝 촉각 입력장치와 휴대정보단말기는 손가락끝으로 입력하는 촉각 입력용 볼록부가 복수개 설치된 입력 플레이트와, 촉각 입력용 볼록부를 가압하였을 때, 입력신호를 코드화할 수 있는 입력제어수단을 구비하고, 손목을 고정하여 손가락끝을 입력 플레이트 상에서 이동시켰을 때, 좌우 양손의 손가락끝이 모두 촉각으로 표면을 인식할 수 있는 거꾸로 세워진 계란형 곡선(C1)으로 둘러싸인 영역 내에 촉각 입력용 볼록부가 배치된 것을 특징으로 한다.

Abstract translation: 一种用于个人数字助理的指尖触觉输入装置，其能够通过在由指尖触觉识别的投影上移动指尖产生的各种输入操作。 输入板具有多个指尖输入投影和输入控制装置，其在投影被按下时编码输入信号。 手指可以在手腕固定的情况下在输入板上移动。 这些凸起部分设置在由倒置的大致为蛋形的曲线C 1或C 2所勾画的表面区域内，这可由任一只手的指尖指尖均匀地使用。
