Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a health food containing N-acetylcysteine as an active ingredient for treating or preventing Batten disease. The N acetylcysteine decreases the expression of CPS1, OGG1, and DNA polymerase beta so that a damage to DNA caused by Batten disease can be reduced and the N-acetylcysteine can be usefully used as a drug for treating Batten disease or a health food for alleviating Batten disease.

Abstract translation: 本发明涉及含有N-乙酰半胱氨酸作为治疗或预防Batten病的活性成分的药物组合物和保健食品。 N型乙酰半胱氨酸降低CPS1，OGG1和DNA聚合酶β的表达，从而可以降低由Batten病引起的DNA损伤，并且N-乙酰半胱氨酸可有效地用作治疗Batten病的药物或用于缓解的保健食品 蝙蝠病。
