Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel use of a rhaponticin composition and, more specifically, to a composition comprising rhaponticin as an active ingredient for preventing or treating vascular diseases. The rhaponticin composition according to the present invention increases generation of nitric oxide through an effect of inhibiting arginase activity, suppresses generation of free radicals at the same time, and resolves dysfunction of vascular endothelial cells, thereby a composition comprising the same as an active ingredient can be usefully used as a drug or a functional health food for preventing and treating vascular diseases.

Abstract translation: 本发明涉及一种rhaponticin组合物的新用途，更具体地说，涉及包含rhaponticin作为预防或治疗血管疾病的活性成分的组合物。 根据本发明的rhaponticin组合物通过抑制精氨酸酶活性的作用增加了一氧化氮的产生，同时抑制了自由基的产生，并且解决了血管内皮细胞的功能障碍，从而包含与活性成分相同的组合物可以 有效地用作预防和治疗血管疾病的药物或功能保健食品。
