Abstract: PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing 2-methoxy-3,4-(methylenedioxy)benzophenone compound for treating prostate cancer is provided to suppress androgen receptor function. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating prostate cancer contains 2-methoxy-3,4-(methylenedioxy)benzophenone of chemical formula 1. The compound of chemical formula 1 is a benzophenone materials isolated from Securidaca plant. The composition is used in the form of tablet, capsule, powder, granule, suspension, emulsion, syrup, liquid, aerosol, lotion, cream, or lotion.
