Abstract: PURPOSE: A compressor is provided to offset vibration at a discharge port of a compressor with a resonator by mounting the Helmholtz resonator at the front end of the discharge port. CONSTITUTION: A discharge port of a compressor consists of: a main tube(1) having a neck portion(a) connected to a discharge port pipe(5) and an extended front end portion(b) having a larger bore than one of the neck portion; an annular rod-shaped volume adjustment device(2) inserted into the extended front end portion of the main tube; and a cover(4) sealing the front opening of the main tube. A straight groove(p) is formed outside the volume adjustment device to push into or pull out the volume adjustment device from the discharge port pipe. An O-ring is set between the front end of the main tube and the cover to keep airtight therebetween. The compressor has a Helmholtz resonator at the discharge port. Therefore, the resonator reduces noise in starting the compressor.
