    Abstract: PURPOSE: An underground metal pipe inspection apparatus is provided to reduce noise of obtained signal and achieve improved accuracy of inspection, by allowing the axis forming centers of an exciter and a detector to be coaxial with the internal central axis of the pipe. CONSTITUTION: An underground metal pipe inspection apparatus, comprises an amplifier power module(100) having a housing(110) and a battery mounted within the housing; a flexible unit(200) arranged into a predetermined length, at both sides of the amplifier power module, which is bent or stretched in accordance with the bending direction of the pipe; an exciter module(300) having a housing(310) arranged at an end of the flexible unit, and an exciter mounted within the exciter module so as to generate an AC magnetic field; a detector module(400) having a housing(410) arranged at the other end of the flexible unit, a detector for detecting the AC magnetic field generated from the exciter module, and an amplifier for amplifying the signal detected by the detector and transmitting the amplified signal to a computer; and a centralizer(500) arranged outside the exciter module and the detector module, which controls the axis forming centers of the exciter module and the detector module to be coaxial with the internal central axis of the pipe.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a device for detecting leakage portions of water supply piping laid under the ground are provided to detect even fine cracks formed in the piping and to exactly detect several portions of leakage existing in the piping. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting leakage portions of water supply piping laid under the ground includes a detection capsule(2) having a remote field eddy current generator(3), an eddy current signal detector(4) and an amplifier(5) for amplifying signal detected in the eddy current signal detector, a power supplier(10) for supplying power source to the remote field eddy current generator, a wire reel(7) and a wire reel driving motor(8) for moving the detection capsule in a fixed speed, a comparator(11) comparing the amplified detection signal and standard signal applied from the power supplier and detecting a difference value, a distance measurer(12) for measuring a movement distance of the detection capsule, and a computer(13) determining leakage of the piping through data from the comparator and the distance measurer.
