    Abstract: A Cr-free catalyst for a high temperature water gas shift reaction, which does not comprise chromium or precious metals and shows high activities in the removal of carbon monoxide, is provided, and a method for preparing the Cr-free catalyst for high temperature water gas shift reaction to remove carbon monoxide is provided. In a catalyst for a high temperature water gas shift reaction to remove carbon monoxide, the catalyst for the high temperature water gas shift reaction is a Cr-free three component-based composite catalyst comprises iron and two components selected from nickel, cobalt, and zinc. A method for preparing a catalyst for a high temperature water gas shift reaction comprises the steps of: (a) mixing an iron precursor(Fe(NO3)3.9H2O) with distilled water, adding two selected from a nickel precursor(Ni(NO3)2.6H2O), a cobalt precursor(Co(NO3)3.6H2O), and a zinc precursor(Zn(NO3)2.6H2O) to a mixture of iron precursor and the distilled water, and agitating the mixture; (b) adding an aqueous solution in which distilled water and sodium carbonate are mixed to the mixture of the step(a) until a pH of the mixed solution becomes 2.5 to 3, and drying the mixed solution; (c) adding an aqueous solution in which distilled water and sodium hydroxide are mixed to the resulting material of the step(b) until a pH of the mixed solution becomes 7 to 8, and separating a produced sediment by a pressure reducing separator; and (d) washing the sediment obtained in the step(c) with distilled water, drying the washed sediment, and heat-treating the dried sediment at 400 to 600 deg.C.
