Abstract: PURPOSE: User identification apparatus and method including a touch sensing unit are provided to identify a user by a conventional touch operation based on the touch property of the user. CONSTITUTION: A user identification method comprises the following steps: receiving measurement values from touch operations of a user, and saving the intrinsic feature value of the user from the measurement values in advance using a user identification apparatus(110); receiving the touch operations form the user using a touch sensing unit(120); extracting more than one touch element from the inputted touch operation(130); and identifying the user by comparing the extracted touch operation and the previously saved feature value(150).
