Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing germinated brown rice extract for controlling serum glucose level is provided to suppress glucose absorption in the small intestine and to prevent or treat diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A composition for controlling serum glucose level contains solvent of germinated brown rice extract as an active ingredient. A method for preparing the germinated brown rice extract comprises: a step of drying germinated brown rice; a step of extracting the dried germinated brown rice with aqueous, organic solvent or mixture solvent thereof; a step of fractioning from non-polar solvent to polar solvent; and a step of drying the fraction.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition for preventing or treating obesity containing germinated brown rice extract is provided to be used in health food without toxicity and side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating obesity contains germinated brown rice extract as an active ingredient. The extract is methanol extract. The composition additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A composition for suppressing adipose accumulation contains germinated brown rice extract as an active ingredient. A composition for suppressing adipocyte precursor cell contains the germinated brown rice extract as an active ingredient. The composition is used in the form of tablet, granule, capsule, liquid formulation or syrup.
