Abstract: The present invention discloses a situation interpretation based energy saving type LED illumination control system and a controlling method thereof. The situation interpretation based energy saving type LED illumination control system and the controlling method thereof comprise: a ubiquitous sensor network (USN) monitoring part consisting of a sensor to sense the position and action of a user, and outputting the user position information, user action information, electric energy information and brightness information in real time; an integral control part to control at least one of color, color temperature, brightness, on/off of each illumination device based on the illumination environmental index designed according to a situation information, spatial properties, and a user action collected through each sensor.
