Abstract: A post regulator is provided to remove a reflux phenomenon of current and to improve heat generation by securing a zero current switching for a secondary side switch device. A post regulator includes a comparator, a logic gate, and a synchronization circuit. The comparator has an input terminal for inputting each of a secondary side output voltage, a first reference voltage, and a second reference voltage of a converter to compare the secondary side output voltage with the first and second reference voltages. The logic gate switches the secondary side output voltage in a previously set pattern when the secondary side output voltage is within the first and second reference voltages and increases or decreases the switching period if the secondary side output voltage is out of the first and second reference voltages. The synchronization circuit synchronizes the switching of the secondary side output voltage with the period of the output voltage.

Abstract: A backlight driving apparatus for a non-emissive display device is provided to realize high brightness and high light efficiency, by switching an inverter driver through a fixed frequency and a fixed time rate and controlling a digital dimming signal according to an integral value of current flowing into a lamp in a closed loop type. A lamp driver(110) switches DC power to convert the DC power into a predetermined electric power. A lamp unit(120) receives the converted electric power to emit light. A sensor(130) senses current level or brightness level from the lamp unit. A controller(140) generates a digital dimming signal to uniformly control the sensed current level or brightness level according to a lamp brightness command. A signal generator(150) generates a driving signal of a fixed frequency and a fixed time rate. A digital dimming unit(160) generates an inverter driving signal based on the digital dimming signal and the driving signal.
