Abstract: A travel information service system and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to make a map suitable for the user's travel purpose directly, and to offer a lot of travel information to the user. A plurality of databases(220-250) store a lot of information such as member information, map information, tourism information, lodging information, etc. A server(200) stores travel media desired by a user and detailed information on the travel media in the plural databases. A user terminal(100) displays map information provided from a server by communicating with the server, and displays a travel medium selected by the user as a particular icon(310) on the map information. A map(300) displays the particular icon as an intrinsic code on the map information, and prints the code to a device connected to a user terminal. A portable terminal(400) recognizes the code, and displays detailed information on the travel medium corresponding to the code on a screen.
