    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for preparing 2,4-dinitroimidazole is provided to minimize allergy site and to simplify a process. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing 2,4-dinitroimidazole comprises: a step of reacting acetic acid and nitric acid to 4-nitroimidazole to prepare 1,4-dinitroimidazole; a step of removing moisture to prepare a methylene chloride solution; and a step of adding chlorobenzene to the methylene chloride solution of 1,4-dinitroimidazole and reacting at 120-140°C for four to five hours to prepare 2,4-dinitroimidazole. A moisture drier for removing moisture is magnesium sulfate, calcium sulfate, calcium chloride, or sodium sulfate.
