Abstract: PURPOSE: A location monitoring system utilizing a mobile apparatus for an LBS(Location Based Service) and method thereof are provided to effectively utilize energy resources of the mobile apparatus by sensing location information through a mobile apparatus of a group. CONSTITUTION: A group management apparatus(220) transmits information for a group to a sever by determining a group for adjacent mobile apparatuses. A location sensing schedule management apparatus(230) receives group information from the group management apparatus. A location management apparatus(210) transmits the location information to the server by receiving location sensing schedules from the location sensing schedule management apparatus. The location sensing schedule management apparatus transmits the location sensing schedule to the location management apparatus and determines the location sensing apparatuses of the group by receiving the group information from the group management apparatus.
