Abstract: PURPOSE: An arrival angle estimation method, and an array antenna using the same are provided to apply an element removal technique of a covariance inverse matrix to a capon algorithm, thereby improving the performance of arrival angle estimation. CONSTITUTION: An arrival angle estimation method is as follows. Signals are received by array antennas(S100). A covariance inverse matrix of a covariance matrix is calculated(S220). A capon algorithm is applied with an element removal technique of a covariance inverse matrix(S230). A power spectrum of signal sources corresponding to the received signals is calculated(S240). An arrival angle is estimated by comparing the calculated power spectrum with a predetermined threshold(S300).
