    Abstract: A polycyclic hydrocarbon compound containing a triangular ring, a method for preparing the polycyclic hydrocarbon compound, and a liquid fuel containing the compound are provided to obtain a high density and high energy liquid fuel. A polycyclic hydrocarbon compound containing a triangular ring is the tetracyclo[6.2.1.0^2.6 .0^8 .10]undecane represented by the formula. The tetracyclo[6.2.1.0^2.6 .0^8 .10]undecane is prepared by diluting dicyclopentadiene with a mixture solution comprising CH2Cl2 and Et2O; dissolving N-methyl-N-nitrosourea and Pd(OAc)2 in CH2Cl2 with maintaining the external temperature of a reactor to be 10-20 deg.C to react the obtained solution with the diluted one by cyclization; and hydrogenating the obtained one.
