Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for detecting underground utilities and a method thereof are provided to convert an output signal of ground surface transmitting radar and combine the converted output signal with an output signal of a metal detector, thereby detecting underground utilities. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting underground utilities includes a first detector(100), a second detector(200), a signal converter(300), and a signal combining unit(400). The first detector includes ground transmission radar, generates a detection signal from ground transmission radar, and outputs a response signal about underground utilities of a detection signal. The second detector includes a metal detector, generates a detection signal form the metal detector, and outputs a response signal to the underground utilities.
