Abstract: PURPOSE: A target direction estimation method and an apparatus of a mono-pulse radar are provided to increase accuracy of target tracking by continuously controlling the beam steering direction by accurately estimating an error between the current beam steering direction and the real target direction. CONSTITUTION: A target direction estimation apparatus includes a first estimated value calculation unit(400), a second estimated value calculation unit(402) and a beam steering direction correction unit(404). The first estimated value calculation unit calculates a first estimated value about the target direction using an MRC according to signal vector, weighed vector of an arrayed antenna and ML(Maximum Likelihood) technique received from an arrayed antenna after transmitting a mono-pulse. The second estimated value calculation unit calculates the final estimated value about the target direction using the inverse function of a function determining the first estimated value and the MRC. A beam steering direction correction unit(406) corrects the beam steering direction using the final estimated value. Abstract: The present invention inspects the existence of a clutter by each distance section for a detection signal reflected on a target after separating total detection distance in which beam is steered into multiple distance sections and performs blanking process of the distance section having the clutter and dramatically reduces a detection error rate by the clutter and effectively solves an assignment problem of a memory space. The present invention maximizes a target detection performance by converting a basic detection wave form (LFM) into a PT wave form having an excellent clutter eliminating performance and performs target detection if the clutter generation rate by the distance section is over a predetermined range. Therefore, a target detection method of a radar system according to the present invention has the characteristic of a clutter map technique and uses a small memory space and reduces a detection error and performs the target detection in real time. Abstract: PURPOSE: A radar target detection method using processing section size variation, and an apparatus thereof are provided to improve the detection performance of a radar by preventing falsely detecting a target in a radar. CONSTITUTION: A processing unit(801a-801c) distribute the received radar signal according to a processing signal, uses the input signal as an input value to recognize a target in a processing section. A control unit(802) eliminates a target recognized in a boundary area of a processing section. A setting condition of the processing section is repeatedly modified.
