    Abstract: PURPOSE: An ignitor for liquid fuel is provided to secure enough time for supplying ignition energy to liquid fuel, and decrease size and weight by using an MTV(magnesium-teflon-viton) explosive and the optimum composition of an igniting source. CONSTITUTION: The ignitor for liquid fuel comprises the parts of: a nozzle(2) joined to the front of a main body(1) for spraying flame generated in the main body to liquid fuel; an igniting source(4) layered in a length direction inside the main body, composed of 58-59% of magnesium, 38-39% of teflon(4micrometer) and 2-3% of viton; an auxiliary igniting source(3) placed in front of igniting source for supplying energy required in initiation of the igniting source, wherein the auxiliary igniting source is obtained by mixing MTV powder with BKNO3 in a ratio of 50:50 and pressing; an initiator(6) joined to the back of a main body(1) for generating high pressure and high temperature burning gas required in the combustion of igniting source by the electric signal; a flame-supplying tube(5) having a cylindrical shape and holes(10) for supplying burning gas, for carrying the burning gas from the initiator to the front part of the igniting source; a first liner(12) placed on the outer circumference of the flame-supplying tube for preventing contact between igniting source and the surface of the flame-supplying tube; a second liner(14) placed on the inner circumference of the main body, for preventing contact between igniting source and the inside of the main body.
