Abstract: PURPOSE: A method of preparation of powdered iron for a heating material in a thermal battery using spray pyrolysis is provided to by using iron powder as heating source for melting solid electrolyte activating an inactive battery. CONSTITUTION: A method of preparation of powdered iron for a heating material in a thermal battery using spray pyrolysis is as follows. An iron containing solution is produced by dissolving a compound in solvent. The iron containing solution is sprayed into droplets. Spherical third iron oxide particles are created by drying and thermally decomposing the droplets. Third iron oxide powder is created by plasticizing the spherical third iron oxide particles. Coral-shaped iron powder is obtained by reducing the third iron oxide powder in a reduction gas atmosphere.

Abstract: 본 발명은 열전지 발열재용 철 분말의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 분무열분해 공정에 의해 철 화합물 함유 분무용액으로부터 수 마이크론 크기의 입자들을 제조하고, 이들을 열처리와 환원 과정을 거쳐 산호 모양의 철 분말을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 철 분말의 제조방법에 의해 제조되는 다공성의 철 분말은 열로 활성화되는 비축전지인 열전지의 열원으로 유용하게 사용된다.
