Abstract: PURPOSE: An automatic grinder using a liquid honing method is provided to grind the surface of a metal mold having a complex shape to a hard face. CONSTITUTION: A three dimensional metal mold is measured and a nozzle(23) operates. A nozzle control shaft rotating the nozzle at a proper angle is installed on a Z shaft(20c) of a right cross robot so that an industrial PC controls a motor(26) and keeps the gap between the nozzle and the metal mold shape 45 degrees. Then the nozzle sprays cutting liquid on the section between each point which is from the distance between the metal mold and a laser displacement measurer. Also a decelerator attached between the motor and the nozzle suppresses vibration and repulsive force caused by spraying pressure, and keeps the position of the nozzle.
