    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for isolating daidzein from isoflavone is provided, thereby isolating pure daidzein which has antioxidative and anticancer activities and estrogen like activity. CONSTITUTION: A method for isolating daidzein from isoflavone comprises subjecting aglycone type isoflavone powder extracted from beans to column chromatography using a mixed solvent consisting of 30 parts by weight of diethyl ether, 30 parts by weight of acetone and 40 parts by weights of acetonitrile as an eluent, wherein the column chromatography is silica gel column chromatography; and acetonitrile solvent is used for extracting isoflavone powder in the column chromatography.
