Abstract: A cudraflavanone A isolated from Cudrania tricuspidata CARR. is provided to show topoisomerase I inhibiting activity and be able to induce apoptosis of tumor cell, thereby being used for medicines and health functional foods for preventing and treating cancer. The pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cancer comprises cudraflavanone A showing topoisomerase 1 inhibiting activity and inducing apoptosis of tumor cell, and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The cudraflavanone A is represented by the formula(1) and isolated from Cudrania tricuspidata CARR.

Abstract translation: 从Cudrania tricuspidata CARR分离的一种苦瓜黄酮A。 提供拓扑异构酶I抑制活性并能够诱导肿瘤细胞凋亡，从而用于预防和治疗癌症的药物和保健功能食品。 用于预防和治疗癌症的药物组合物包括显示拓扑异构酶1抑制活性和诱导肿瘤细胞凋亡的菊花酮A及其药学上可接受的盐。 菊花丙酮A由式（1）表示，并且从Cudrania tricuspidata CARR分离。
