Abstract: A composition comprising an extract of Elaeagnus multiflora fruit is provided to inhibit DPPH free radical excellently and secure xanthin oxidase inhibitory capability, platelet coagulation inhibitory activity, nitrite formation inhibitory activity and tyrosinase inhibitory activity, thereby being usefully used for preventing and treating skin diseases and inflammatory diseases caused by oxidative stress. A pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition for preventing and improving skin diseases related to inflammation comprises a fruit extract of Elaeagnus multiflora prepared by using a solvent such as petroleum ether, chloroform or ethylacetate as an effective ingredient.
