Abstract: PURPOSE: A tubular current waveform improving circuit of an electronic ballast for a discharge lamp is provided to reduce the capacitance of an electrolyte capacitor by removing an existing smoothing capacitor and connecting two capacitors in serial, and improve the tubular current waveform by adding a resonant capacitor to form a perfect resonant circuit. CONSTITUTION: A filter(1), a rectifier(2), an inverter for converting rectified DC voltage into RF AC voltage, and the discharge lamp(7) are connected to an AC power supply. A high capacitance electrolyte capacitor for smoothing the rectified DC voltage is removed, and two low capacitance electrolyte capacitors(8,9) are connected through a serial bridge. Further, a low capacitance capacitor(10) is serially connected between the discharge lamp(7) and the serial bridge capacitors(8,9) to form a passage of resonant load current. In addition, a choke coil(6) is serially connected to the discharge lamp(7) and the resonant capacitor(10) to form an R-L-C serial resonant circuit.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An electronic stabilizer is provided to reduce a switching loss by improving a current waveform of a resonant load. CONSTITUTION: The electronic stabilizer for a fluorescent lamp comprises: a lamp current,voltage detecting part (70) for detecting lamp current and voltage applied to a fluorescent lamp; a microprocessor control part (80) for recognizing a sort of a lamp by use of the detected current and voltage of the fluorescent lamp to a target voltage according to the recognized lamp, wherein the control part (80) compares the target voltage and a control DC voltage as an output of a voltage converting part to generate an error voltage signal and provides the error voltage signal to the voltage converting part (30). A PWM switching signal of the voltage converting part is adjusted in connection with an output of the control part (80) so as to be varied an output, and a closed loop is formed so that a control DC voltage suitable for the mounted lamp is followed by feeding by an outputted control DC voltage.
