Abstract: PURPOSE: A specific DNA fragment in K3 and K5 races of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae is provided to form an amplified band and to quickly and accurately determine the races. CONSTITUTION: A gene for determining K3 or K5 race of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae has a base sequence of sequence number 1. A composition for determining K3 or K5 race of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae contains the gene of sequence number 1. A primer set for determining K3 or K5 of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae has a primer of sequence number 2 and a primer of sequence number 3. A method for determining K3 or K5 comprises: a step of isolating DNA from Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae; and a step of performing PCR of the DNA using the primer set.
