Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for diagnosing a hard disk trouble and recovering a disable hard disk are provided to diagnose a physical failure cause of the hard disk and to save the time for repairing the hard disk. CONSTITUTION: An optical sensor unit(203) senses the rotation of a flatter of a hard disk. A gear box(204) operates a rotary shaft. A motor(205) provides rotation power to an internal gear of the gear box. A controller calculates the rotating speed of the flatter based on the signal of the optical sensor. The controller indicates the rotating speed on a display unit(206). The controller controls the driving of the motor. A probe guide(208) guides a probe in order to deviate the probe from the upper or lower surface of the flatter.
