Abstract: The invention concerns novel detergent and conditioning compositions comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least an anionic surfactant, at least an amphoteric surfactant, at least a selected water-insoluble carboxylic acid ester: the total number of carbon atoms of the ester not exceeding 27 if it contains no unsaturation and 50 if it contains at least one unsaturation, the ester concentration being higher than 1 % and the anionic surfactant/amphoteric surfactant ratio being not more than 3. The invention is useful for hair and skin cleaning and care.
