Abstract: PURPOSE: A foundation composition which is an oil-in-water emulsion is provided, which foundation composition has improved stability and uniformed color spread on the skin after storage for 2 to 4 months at room temperature(25 deg.C). CONSTITUTION: The foundation composition which is an oil-in-water emulsion comprises lipid phase, water base phase, C8-C22 alkyl dimethicone copolyol, dimethicone copolyol, and hydrophobic coated dye, wherein the lipid phase comprises 30 wt.% or more of volatile lipid phase containing 6 wt.% of one or more volatile carbohydrate oil and one or more volatile oil selected from volatile silicone oil, volatile fluorine oil and a mixture thereof; and the C8-C22 alkyl dimethicone copolyol is represented by formula I in which PE is (-C2H3O)x-(C3H6O)y-R; R is selected from hydrogen and C1-C4 alkyl radicals; X is 0 to 100; Y is 0 to 80; m is 1 to 40; n is 10 to 200; o is 1 to 100; p is 7 to 21; and q is 0 to 4.
