Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition containing crude extract of Nelumbo nuciferas leaves or flavonoid isolated from the same is provided to suppress aldose reductase, prevent or treat complication of diabetes. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating complication of diabetes comprises crude extract of Nelumbo nuciferas leaves, non polar solvent-soluble extract or flavonoid compound isolated from the extracts as an active ingredient. The flovonoid compound is one among the chemical formulas 1-5. The flavonoid compound of the chemical formula 1 is quercetin.

Abstract translation: 提供含有Nelumbo nuciferas叶的粗提取物或从其分离的类黄酮的药物组合物以抑制醛糖还原酶，预防或治疗糖尿病并发症。 用于预防或治疗糖尿病并发症的药物组合物包括从提取物中分离的Nelumbo nuciferas叶，非极性溶剂可溶性提取物或类黄酮化合物的粗提取物作为活性成分。 氟类化合物是化学式1-5之一。 化学式1的类黄酮化合物是槲皮素。
