Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for converting food waste into general waste using aerobic bacteria of decomposing protein, starch and lipid is provided, which can decompose bio-decomposable organic matter contained in food waste in a short time by seeding biomass mix-cultured with soil bacteria which is excellent in decomposing activity of carbohydrate, protein and fat, so that can diminish the volume and weight of waste by 90 % at maximum. The general waste converted from food waste contains only 10 % of water and can be landfilled or incinerated. CONSTITUTION: The method is as follows: (i) feed food waste to treatment equipment of food waste that is equipped with compact dewatering tank; (ii) seed lyophilized microorganism biomass of Chromobacter violaceum, Pseudomonas cepacia and Flavobacterium oryzhabitans capable of decomposing starch, protein and lipid; and (iii) proceed aerobic cultivation.
