    Abstract: PURPOSE: A gene-defective Cyanobacteria, and methods for increasing salt resistance of plants and productivity of PHB(poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate) using the same are provided. The productivity of plants is improved by minimizing damage by salts. CONSTITUTION: Cta1 gene-defective Cyanobacteria, Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 Δ Cta1 (KCTC 10247BP) is provided, wherein Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 ΔCta1 (KCTC 10247BP) is obtained by isolating Cta1 gene, damaging the isolated Cta1 gene, inserting the damaged Cta1 gene into a vector to construct a plasmid pGEM Z, and transforming Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 with pGEM Z using humongous recombination. A method for increasing productivity of PHB(poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate) comprises culturing Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 ΔCta1 (KCTC 10247BP) in a medium.
