Abstract: A 3D graphic processing apparatus including a compressing unit and a decompressing unit is provided to use an inner SRAM of a small capacity and an external DRAM at the same time while having fast performance by removing a bottle neck phenomenon when cache miss occurs. A depth data compressing unit(301) compresses original depth data. A depth data compression rate comparing unit(303) compares the compression rate of the depth data compressed in the depth data compressing unit. The compressed depth data is stored in a depth buffer memory or the original depth data is stored in the external DRAM according to the compression rate of the depth data.
