Abstract: An apparatus and a method for detecting movement direction of an object is provided to easily detect the slight variation of the movement direction, without using an expensive device. A conducting-wire detecting unit(100) detects position information of a conducting wire in which a current flow at the timing that the movement direction of an object is changed, among separately positioned conducting wires. A conducting-wire position storing unit(200) is stored with the position information of the conducting wire in which the current flowed. A micom(300) determines the movement direction of the object based on the variation of the position information of the conducting wire. At least two conducting wires are formed in a certain pattern on the same surface.
