CONSTITUTION: A phlorofucofuroeckol A compound of chemical formula I is isolated from Ecklonia stolonifera and Ecklonia cava extract. A method for isolating and purifying the compound of chemical formula I comprises: a step of extracting ethanol extract of Ecklonia stolonifera and Ecklonia cava with n-hexane to prepare hexane water soluble extract; a step of extracting the hexane water soluble extract with ethyl acetate. The Ecklonia stolonifera and Ecklonia cava extract includes crude extract or non-polar solvent soluble extract. The crud extract is prepared using water, ethanol, methanol, butanol, or mixture thereof.
