Abstract: PURPOSE: A power supply device for the drive of a lamp is provided to control a current which flows into a plurality of lamps by including a switch and a ballast capacitor. CONSTITUTION: An inverter part(110) changes an input power source into an AC power source for the drive of a lamp. A current balancing part(120) controls the current balance of the AC power source which is supplied to the first or the N lamp(131~13N) of a lamp group(130). The current balancing part comprises a switching circuit and a balance switching controller. The balance switching controller controls the conduction and the interruption of the switching circuit according to the current level of the AC power source.
