Abstract: PURPOSE: A sampling frequency offset estimation device of an OFDM system and a method thereof are provided to reduce the noise power by adding the interpolative calculation between a first complex conjugate multiplication calculation and a second complex conjugate multiplication calculation about the signal processed the FFT. CONSTITUTION: A first differential calculation unit(100) calculates a complex symbol each scattered pilot processed FFT of an OFDM receiver the complex conjugate multiplication. An interpolator unit(200) repeats a process of obtaining the median complex symbol between continuing two complex symbols among the first phase difference information of the first differential calculation unit as preset repeating time. A second differential calculation unit(300) calculates continuing two median complex symbols among the median complex symbol of the interpolator unit as the complex conjugate multiplication. A sampling frequency offset estimation unit(400) estimates the sampling frequency offset by using the complex symbol for comprising the second phase difference information of the second differential calculation unit.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for detecting a spectrum inversion are provided to easily determine whether a spectrum is inverted by using only two successive symbols from FFT signals. A spectrum inversion of an FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) signal, which includes two successive symbols in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) scheme, is detected. A pilot table(211) stores patterns of inversion and non-inversion pilots for a symbol signal. A correlator(212) calculates a non-inverted correlation value and an inverted correlation value. The non-inverted correlation value is obtained by correlating one of the successive symbols with a non-inverted pilot in the pilot table. The inverted correlation value is obtained by correlating the other of the successive symbols with the inverted pilot in the pilot table. A determining unit(213) compares the non-inverted and inverted correlation values with each other, and determines whether the spectrum is inverted.

Abstract: An OFDM receiver of digital broadcasting receiving system is provided to improve the estimated performance of the frequency offset and to reduce the performance time. The OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) receiver comprises a frequency offset correction(130), a FFT part(140), and channel equalization part(150) and a frequency offset/pilot location estimating part(200). The frequency offset correction amends the frequency offset by using an estimation value. The FFT part performs the fast Fourier transform on the signal received from the frequency offset correction. The channel equalization part compensates for the channel distortion of the received signal by using the scattered pilot positioning estimation value.
