Abstract: An apparatus and a method for outputting a call-receiving sound in a portable terminal are provided to remove the necessity to separately store bell sounds to be outputted as the call-receiving sound, and output call-receiving sounds different whenever a call is received. An apparatus for outputting a call-receiving sound comprises the followings: a digital broadcast receiving part(110) receiving digital broadcast data; a controller(140) which sets up a digital broadcast as the call-receiving sound, and receives a call through the digital broadcast receiving part when the call comes in the portable terminal so as to output the data as the call-receiving sound in real time; and an output unit which outputs the digital broadcast data received in the digital broadcast receiving part as the call-receiving sound.
