    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for setting synchronization in a communication exchange system is provided to define the time when an adjacency state of both sides becomes all 'ESTAB' state as a synchronization completion time, thereby starting a service of the communication exchange system. CONSTITUTION: A GSMP(General Switch Management Protocol) slave(20) waits a constant time and retransmits 'SYN' message since there is no a response to 'SYN' message from a GSMP master(10)(S15). The GSMP master(10) transmits 'SYN' message to the GSMP slave(20) in order to start an adjacency procedure(S12), transits its adjacency state to 'SYNSENT'(1) and thereafter waits a response message of the GSMP slave(20).
