본 발명의 휴대 단말기를 사용하는 시각 장애인은 촉각을 통해 친숙한 점자 형태의 표기법을 이용하므로 편하게 읽고 쓰기를 수행 할 수 있다. 사용자는 직접 휴대 단말기의 점자 키패드를 통해 문자 메시지를 입력하고 전송할 수 있고, 상기 휴대 단말기에 장착된 진동 모터를 이용하여 무선 통신부를 통해 수신된 문자 메시지를 점자 형태로 확인 할 수 있어 시각 장애인들의 휴대 단말기 사용을 늘릴 수 있는 이점이 있다.
